Cool stuff coming up to visit, attend, compete at or show models at

Figure World – 10th July

The guys over at The Basement are running an event at Maelstrom’s Eye of the Storm Centre in July. A chance to meet other painters, see some minis on display and maybe see some demos. If you live close by this could be worth a visit. We’ll be there with a display stand and our urban basing and dipping workshops. Plus if you display 3 pieces or more before 1pm you get entered into the raffle to win a bust!

Irregular Magazine Birthday BBQ 11th July 2010

Irregular will celebrate it’s first anniversary in July with issue 5 of the magazine. To celebrate we’ll be having a lunchtime BBQ/picnic in Endcliffe Park in Sheffield (near Hunter’s Bar). Bring a blanket and some burgers! It’s a family friendly park – so don’t feel you have to leave the kids at home. Timed to avoid clashing with the World Cup Final – this is a LUNCHTIME event 🙂

IMP II 31st July 2010

Due to popular demand Irregular Miniature Paintfest – fondly known as IMP will be back at the end of July in Sheffield. More space, more things to do – and more cake! Keep Saturday 31st free in your diary – and start thinking about what to enter into the Golden Imp Awards competition!

Games Day UK ’10 – 26th September

There was a fantastic meet up of painters at the Golden Demon cabinets, a chance to see some fantastic minis close up. If you didn’t go, you missed out on Ben Jarvis’ Slayer Sword winning Clockmaker, and Julian Casses’ amazing Duel, plus hundreds of other stunning models. If you like Games Workshop miniatures, this is a great opportunity to have fun painting and meet some great people.

Old Glory World Wargames – Derby Oct 2nd 3rd

We had a lot of fun at Derby last year, and we’re planning to be back again in October running an urban basing workshop. Let us know if you’re free to help out on one of the days.

Fiasco – Leeds Royal Armouries, Oct 31st

We’ve got a demo table at Fiasco running our urban basing workshop. With free entry to the armouries this should be a top day out.

Salute April 24th 2010

Salute is held in London at the Excel Centre. It’s a big show, with a well established and respected painting competition. SI won’t be there in any official capacity, but there will be an adhoc painters meet up like last year and it’s always great to meet folks. The theme for the show this year is Sci-Fi and advance tickets are available from the official website.
