Just a little something from our Editor on the latest issue of Irregular Magazine!

Blood, Sweat and Paint

First of all, we’d like to start with an apology to all of our readers and contributors. We were not able to publish Irregular Magazine in Summer 2012, which we deeply regret. We believe we’ve got through the problems that made this impossible and are now back on track with regular publications!

Some people have been experiencing difficulties using ‘right-click > save as’ in their browser. Instead, click on the links to open the PDF in your browser, then use ‘File > save as’ to save it to your computer. Alternatively, download as a zip file.

Once again, we have another great issue, packed with excellent articles and tutorials. We have a really interesting look at the costs of producing limited miniatures runs and a discussion around
how to create scenarios for wargames, as well as a further look into the world of Magic: The Gathering.

Workshops at Derby World Wargames

October 3, 2010

This weekend we were in Derby, at the Old Glory World Wargames show held at the University of Derby.

With over 60 traders, tournaments, demonstration games and participation games this is a fun packed event for gamers of all ages. On the Sheffield Irregulars stand this year we were offering free basing workshops – urban rubble, woodland flowers and blood and gore effects.

Each of these bases could be made with a few simple materials in just a couple of minutes, and they proved popular with young and old a like all weekend long. The show judges approved as well, and we won the prize for best participation display!

Issue 3 of Irregular magazine (due out in January) is a undead special, which inspired artist Ricardo Guimaraes to produce a rather special cover.

He’s also been nice enough to make us another wallpaper, hopefully this will wet your appetite for the new issue.

Issue 2 of Irregular Magazine is well underway – with an expected release date of October 2nd (probably around midnight!).

The cover art for this issue has been designed especially for us by Vyctoria Hart.
Her art nouveau inspired, steampunk imagery caught our eye at a recent event in Sheffield, where a large group of local artists were displaying their handmade work.

Vyctoria’s art has a very soft feel to it, that conjures up smog filled cities and clockwork machinery.

As a treat, she’s made us some desktop wallpaper. What better way to countdown to the release of issue 2?

Irregular Magazine – issue 1 in production

June 10, 2009

Issue 1 is currently in production. Editor Jason Hubbard is working on the layouts and the provisional size of the magazine is 32 pages – but it’s still a long way off from being a final count.

The articles that have been contributed are looking good, and have been sent to Nick Johnson for proofing – good man!

Along with artists who have been extremely kind and donated illustrations for the magazine (Matt Mella, Richard Harrison, Roger Bunting), some lovely people on Flickr have also agreed for their photos to be included.
