Red Challenge: time to vote

November 30, 2010

The November painting challenge theme was: Red, and we’ve had some really great entries.

Please take time to look through them all A to G and use our form (link at bottom of page) to score each out of a possible 10 for how well they meet the theme (Red) and out of another 10 for style.

Remember this not about ‘the best painting’. Award style points for overall look, concept, awesome pose, cool base etc.

Please leave some helpful and friendly comments for each of our entrants, this is the place to leave tips, or point out (nicely) where to make improvements to improve the piece.

New themes – vote

May 4, 2010

When we asked you the other day to come up with suggestions for future painting challenge themes, you didn’t hold back!

After carefully looking through them all, we narrowed it down to a selection of 7 possibles for you to vote on.

Use the poll below to pick your favourite 3 themes. When the poll closes, the 3 themes with the highest number of votes will be chosen as the painting challenges for June, July and August this year.

Gunslinger -the vote

May 1, 2010

New challenge themes

October 18, 2009

You voted, and the results are in.
The painting challenge themes for Dec – March are as follows:

  • December Painting Challenge theme: Silent Night (26% of the votes)
  • February Painting Challenge theme: Duel (20% of the votes)
  • March Painting Challenge theme: After the battle (17% of the votes)

So now you know, you can plan ahead for your entries, but please don’t start painting them just yet!
Remember, each monthly challenge is designed for you to paint in that month.

You decide

October 13, 2009

Voting for themes up to 3 months in advance seems to be working out well, so it’s about time to decide what painting challenge themes we’ll be facing over Christmas and into the new year.

The December challenge will run into January, as we know that everyone is too busy over the holidays to remember to post pictures, so you get a couple of extra weeks as the deadline will be January 10th.  There will not be a separate January challenge.

As the festive season is approaching there is a separate poll just for the December painting challenge, with some suggestions that are inspired by the season.

Please pick your fav 2 themes, the one with the most votes will become the Decemeber challenge.

*Poll is now closed*

Vote for Sept Painting Challenge

September 28, 2009

The deadline has passed, the entries are in, it’s time to vote on the 3 colour challenge.

Vote for the next 3 painting challenges themes

August 4, 2009

Yes, that’s right! We’re asking you to vote for the next 3 challenge themes in one go.

There is a poll below, please vote for any 3 of the themes available. The 3 with the highest number of votes will become the themes for Sept, Oct and Nov challenges.

Voting will be open till Sunday 23rd of August – so there’s not rush. Just remember to pick 3 themes – not just one.

*Voting is now closed*

This is a trial of a new method of picking the themes based on group feedback – so make sure to let us know how you feel about it.

Vote for the July painting challenge winner

July 26, 2009

The July painting challenge theme was: Hero or Heroine, and we have had a record number of heroic entries this month. 16 individuals stepped up to the challenge, and one person even entered twice (it’s allowed!).

You can vote via the Facebook event, or via the comments form below.

Vote for the July theme

June 16, 2009

Yup, it’s that time again – we need to vote on the theme for the July painting challenge.

Remember each challenge is a chance to push yourself, try something new or practice a technique.
It should be fun and you can always ask for advice from the group.
